Baked Goods and Food Products
Rich and I both enjoy making bread. While I like to make breads that you can braid and shape, Rich can make some excellent pizza dough and other yeast breads.
We already had tweaked a favorite recipe to make our favorite kind of chocolate cupcakes, and then I heard that duck eggs are better than chicken eggs for baking...meet the best chocolate cupcakes you will ever taste. Just typing this, I want to bake some.
Rich found a recipe for Italian bread that I always ask him to make, and we started adding our own fresh and dried herbs to it to make it more to our taste. I guess other people like it, too, because it took a blue ribbon at last year's North Texas Fair and Rodeo.
A mandala of skull shaped muffins for Halloween. These muffins are a constant request from our daughters, probably due to the chocolate chips.
Although I haven't yet figured out how to make sprinkles, and I have a hard time resisting their bling, I find our homemade recipe for the cupcakes better than boxed. Somebody teach me how to make homemade sprinkles!
I received The Modern Jewish Baker cookbook for my birthday and the recipes in there are fantastic. This spicy pizza rugelach was pretty tasty.
My second time ever making Babka bread (from the Modern Jewish Baker cookbook) went much better than the first go-round. The process is quite messy, but working with the bread is really enjoyable, and the end result is gorgeous and delicious.
Meet the pie that made my twelve year old change her mind about pie. This chocolate goodness requires love and patience to make, but it is well worth the effort.
